Educational Structure in Hungary

Language Requirements
Hungarian universities offer English-led programs for which you have to have language proficiency certificate such as TOEFL and IELTS.
Bachelor Degrees
- 5.0 to 6.0 in IELTS test
- 60 to 80 in the TOEFL test
Master’s Degrees
- 5.5 to 6.5 in IELTS test
- 70 to 90 in the TOEFL test

University of Szeged

Steps to Apply at Hungarian Universities
- Select a program – once a program and a university are zeroed in, you can proceed to the next step
- Check the eligibility requirements – universities have different criteria to select and admit students. The rules and regulations can vary from industry to industry, stream to stream offered at various universities. Shortlisted universities’ details should be detailed out to work out your plan to study.
- Apply at the university website, through online and email portal. Some universities may require physical documents to be shipped. Ensure your documents reach the destination on or before the due date
- Language requirements should be checked – certain universities will want to weight the scores obtained in IELTS and TOEFL tests
- Required documents like transcripts, degrees, passport and ID’s, clearance certificates must be handy when carrying to the university.
- Academic certificates are required
- English translated birth certificate, attested by notary public must be presented
- ID card must be attached with the application
- Experience letter will be attached if applying for the PhD program
- Passport sized photos will be submitted
- Bank statement will be submitted to show you have enough finances to cover your stay and study in Hungary
- University Deadlines – students must apply before 15 January. If seats are left, students can still apply before the 30 June.
- After acceptance – the visa shall be applied at the embassy of Hungary, where your acceptance letter from the university will be showcased to procure visa.
